FT4Win.ini FTComm settings
Last updated

There are some settings in the FT4Win.ini file that
cannot be entered with FTWinApp, but must be manually entered. NOTE:
These settings are to be used ONLY under the direction of a FastTrack
technician. BAD things may happen if you use these settings on your
own. A sample section of the FT4Win.ini file is shown
below, showing these settings:
[COMMUNICATIONS]
MAXRETRIES=3
MAXRESTARTS=9
TIMEOUT=60
FTPTRACE=NO
FTCOMMLOG=NO
If these entries are not in the FT4Win.ini file, then
they have the values shown.
An explaination of each of these settings follows:
- MAXRETRIES
- The maximum number of times that FTComIntegrated will try to get
any one file. The default is 3.
- MAXRESTARTS
- The maximum number of times that FTComIntegrated will try to
reconnect to the FTP server. The default is 9.
- TIMEOUT
- The local timeout. This is the ammount that FTComIntegrated will
wait for a response from the FTP server. Note that the
Server timeout is something different. The default is
60.
- FTPTRACE
- Controls whether every WSAPI call that the the FTP control uses
will be logged. WSAPI calls are very low level, and
will produce a big log file, so do not use this unless
directed. The default, obviously, is to not
log. The log file is FTP.LOG, and it is located
in the FT directory. To enable this logging, set this
to YES.
- FTCOMMLOG
- Controls whether every message written to the status pane in
the FTComIntegrated control will also be logged to a file,
FTCOMM.LOG, which is in the FT4Win directory.
The default is to not log. To enable
logging, set this to YES.
